Tequila Drinks & Michelada



Tequila Cranberry Mother's Day (2nd Sunday in May) Celebration
IN PITCHER ADD 1 bottle white wine, 1 can frozen cranberry concentrate, 1 cup tequila, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup sugar
Refrig overnight  —  Serve over ice with dinner

The Perfect Margarita - serves 4
1 lime cut into wedges
1 cup good tequila
1/3 cup sugar, or more
1 ¼ cups lime juice
1/3 cup Grand Marnier or Vodka
Ice cubes & coarse salt
Rub lime around rip of glass – in a saucer place salt and salt the rim – refrig
In blender, fill 1/4 full with ice cubes – pour in Tequila, lime juice and Grand Marnier or Vodka
Slowly blend in the sugar, increase speed until frothy (check taste – add sugar if needed) Blend a little more and pour

The Perfect Strawberry Margarita – serves 4
3 1⁄2 cups fresh strawberries or 3 1⁄2 cups frozen strawberries
2 1⁄2 cups crushed ice
1⁄2 cup tequila
1⁄2 cup fresh lime juice (about 5 limes)
1⁄4 cup sugar 
2 TBS Grand Marnier or Vodka
Combine all ingredients except lime wedges in a blender, and process until smooth.
Pour evenly into each of 4 large glasses.
Garnish with lime wedges, if desired.
Serve immediately.

The Perfect Pineapple Margarita – serves 4, in tall glass
1/3 cup fresh lime juice (from about 3 limes), plus wedges for serving
3 tablespoons agave nectar or honey
1 cup pineapple juice
2 cups fresh or frozen pineapple cubes
1/4 cup Grand Marnier or Vodka
1/3 cup tequila
1 ½ tsp chili powder
1 ½ tsp sugar
2 cups ice + coarse salt
Lime for wedge garnish
Rub lime around rip of glass – in a saucer place salt, chili powder, sugar to coat the rim – refrig
In blender, fill 1/4 full with ice cubes – Slowly blend in the agave nectar or honey, pineapple juice, Grand Marnier or Vodka, tequila, pineapple and  increase speed until frothy (check taste – add sugar if needed) Blend a little more and pour   Garnish with lime wedges

Michelada – 1 serving – use chimney glass
1/4 cup salt
1 tsp chili powder
Juice of 1 lime plus 1 lime wedge
2 cups ice
3 ounces tomato juice or  1/3 cup
4 dashes Tobasco
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
One 12-ounce chilled Mexican-style beer, such as Dos Equis Amber
Directions
Combine the salt and chili powder on a small plate. Rub the lime wedge along the rim of a large lager beer glass, and then dip the rim into the chili salt. Fill the glass with the ice. Pour in the lime juice, tomato juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire and beer. Stir briefly to incorporate. Garnish with the lime wedge.
