8 cups fresh apple cider or apple juice
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon or 2 cinnamon sticks
1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg
4 whole cloves
1 orange, cut into slices
8 cinnamon stick
1 cup sweetened whipped cream
Step 1
Heat the cider, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and orange
slices in a 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or
until the mixture is hot, stirring occasionally.
Step 2
Strain the cider into a heatproof pitcher or
individual mugs. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and whipped cream, if desired.
Desert: Apple Crescent
Rolls -- Makes 8
1 tube (8 count) Pillsbury™ refrigerated
crescent rolls
1 large red apple
1 cup warm caramel sauce

1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons melted butter
Directions
1 Preheat the oven to 375°F and
lightly grease a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
2 Wash, peel and slice the apple
into about 8 slices.
3 Divide the crescent rolls into
8 triangles, and lay them out.
4 In a small bowl, combine the
cinnamon and sugar. Dip each apple slice in caramel and then roll it in
cinnamon-sugar.
5 Place the caramel apple slice
on the wide end of a crescent roll triangle and roll up. Place on a lightly
greased baking sheet. Continue with remaining crescents.
6 Brush with melted butter and
bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving
either warm or cool.
** Caramel Sauce for 8
1 cup packed sugar
1/2 cup
butter
1/4 cup milk - Milk 2% Reduced Fat
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Bring brown
sugar, butter, and milk to a gentle boil and cook until thickened, 1 to 2
minutes. Remove from heat; add vanilla extract.
